PYTHON IDE / THE DETAILS

Privacy Policy

Your ideas belong with you. Here is how the app and this website handle information.

Last updated: October 14, 2026 · Applies to the app and website

The short version: Code runs locally. No developer account, ad SDK or code-upload service. Network access is used for packages, Apple purchases, this website, and any requests made by your own code.

1. What this policy covers

This policy describes Python IDE for iPhone and iPad (also called PyNest in parts of the app) and this website, ide.layseallone.com. It explains what stays on your device, when a network request is made, and the choices you have. The app developer is the provider identified on the app’s App Store listing.

2. Your code and learning stay on your device

The app stores your scripts and text data files in its local storage. Learning progress, exercise-to-file links, quiz answers, bookmarks, editor preferences and console history are also stored locally so you can continue where you left off. Code version history stores snapshots of your source and version metadata on this device. Creating automatic or manual snapshots requires Pro; autosaving the current file does not.

We do not operate a service that uploads or executes your code on our servers. The app does not require a developer account, include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, or sell your code and learning data. Python executes on the device.

3. Import, export and backups

Import and export use Apple’s system file picker and sharing tools. You choose the files and destinations. If you select iCloud Drive or another file provider, that provider handles the copy under its own policies. Python IDE does not provide automatic iCloud synchronization.

Device or iCloud backups may include local app data depending on your Apple settings. Export important files before deleting the app or changing devices; restoring purchases does not restore your scripts, code versions or learning progress. Local version history does not provide a separate cloud backup.

4. Python packages and network requests

When you search for a package, the app sends the requested package name to PyPI. Installing or upgrading a package also requests package metadata and downloads compatible files and dependencies from PyPI’s file hosting. These providers necessarily receive connection information such as your IP address and the requested resource. Your scripts are not attached to these requests.

See the PyPI Privacy Notice for the repository’s handling of requests.

5. Code you choose to run

Your Python code and installed packages can make their own network requests or read and write files accessible to the app. What they send or change depends on that code. Review scripts and packages before running them, especially if they come from someone else. Local execution is not an isolated security sandbox for untrusted code.

6. Apple purchases and Pro access

Apple handles payments, subscriptions and purchase restoration. Through StoreKit, the app reads Apple-verified transaction information, such as product identifiers, purchase and expiration information, and revocation or renewal status, to determine whether Pro is available. We do not receive your full payment card details through this process and do not operate a separate purchase account database.

Apple’s own data handling is described in the Apple Privacy Policy. Your purchase history is managed by Apple, not deleted when you delete local app files.

7. This website

This website has no sign-in, contact form, advertising tracker or analytics script added by us. It does not use cookies or local storage to remember a language preference; the language is determined by the page URL. English is the default, and Chinese pages have a /zh/ path.

Cloudflare delivers and protects this website. It may process technical request information, including IP addresses, traffic routing and browser or system information, for delivery, security and reliability. Requests may be recorded in access or security logs; handling and retention follow the hosting service’s policies and configuration. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. Links to Apple, PyPI or other external sites are governed by those sites’ policies when you open them.

8. Your choices and retention

  • Edit, export or delete your own files using the app and system Files tools.
  • Uninstall downloaded packages from the package manager. Resetting the console clears its current variables; locally saved history is separate.
  • Delete the app to remove its local app container. Export anything you want to keep first. Copies you exported and device backups are managed separately.
  • Manage subscriptions and Apple-held purchase records through your Apple Account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Your files and learning progress remain until you change or remove them, or remove the app. Code version history keeps up to the 30 most recent snapshots per file; older snapshots are removed when the limit is exceeded. Pro expiry does not remove existing versions: they remain available to preview and restore, while creating new automatic or manual snapshots requires an active entitlement. Console history separately keeps only the 30 most recent runs; older entries are removed automatically. Because we do not keep a server copy of your code or progress, we cannot retrieve it for you. Third-party retention, including Apple transactions, backups and Cloudflare request records, follows the relevant provider’s policies and your settings.

9. Policy updates and help

We will update this page when the app’s data practices change and revise the date above. For Apple billing, cancellation and refund help, use Apple’s billing support. This policy does not change the privacy rights available to you under applicable law.
